The First Ones....

Here are a couple of pics of the very first Tony Pony comics (circa 1995) - I was 22 years old, working in a warehouse and I put these comics together and gave them away at "Eugene's Comics" which isn't even in business anymore. There was a third issue too before I made the famous "Tony Pony goes to New York" comic (that can be seen in one of these pics) but I only have the original artwork. The only reason we have these copies now is because my Aunt had them and copied them for Tyler. This early stuff is primitive and I have gotten a little better :) but I am still very proud of these goofy little comics.

Fixed!

Black and White

I spent forever this morning coloring my comic to make it all purty and then when I saved it and changed the image size it became all blurry and yucky....sigh....

So Much Drawing....

....and nothing to share! That's probably the only frustrating thing about doing this full time. I'm drawing more now than I ever have before in my life but everything is "work for hire" and I can't share any of it! Some of this stuff is so cool, too! I can't wait until you can see it all. I've been developing characters for an office furniture manufacturer. They are going to use the characters to promote their products(like the Geico Gecko) and I will be drawing a bi-monthly strip for their website! Very cool! Also, been busy developing a brand new comic strip for a brand new Christian publisher. And learning how to color properly (thanks to good friends like Eric Merced and Art Baltazar and Franco - who by the way will hopefully take home the Eisner for best kids book next month!) Go Bruthas, Go! Also, next month my little brothers work is going to debut on the Beeg Screen courtesy of Blue Sky Studios and Ice Age 3 and yes I fully intend to stand up a clap and hoot and holler when I see his name during the rolling of the credits. He and I are also collborating on a cool children's book project that we intend to shop around. Fun, fun and fun. See ya....

Larry Lumbar !!

Sorry, I've been so slack lately. Still tweaking the character designs for my new strip and awaiting their approval. I am REALLY excited about this new stuff! More soon...Lord Willing....

Treasures

Found some old treasures up in my parents attic. The Millenium Falcon (not pictured), G.I. Joe Headquarters (also not pictured), and this Team Supreme gathering of John Blackstar, Boss Hogg (with hat I might add) and Man At Arms (sans moustache). Good times.....

Know The Ghost!

Keepin' Busy

Here be a giraffe with big ole eyeballs. I know the updates have been kinda sparse lately but I promise you the excuse is a great one. Honest. I've been really busy lately. Last week I signed the contract for my first ever syndication/book deal. It's been in the works for several weeks now. All the Glory, Honor, Praise and Credit goes to the Lord for giving me this amazing opportunity. That's all I can say right now, but stay tooned :) Oh, and it's not Tony Pony - it's something entirely new!!
